SEA-State Police agreement for cyber security
At the headquarters of the SEA Group at Milan Linate airport, an important Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the State Police and SEA Aeroporti di Milano for the strengthening of IT security. The agreement is part of the actions promoted by the Ministry of the Interior to enhance the prevention of cyber threats aimed at the country's strategic digital infrastructures.
With around 40 million passengers passing through the two airports in 2024, the Milan airport system is among the top ten in Europe for traffic (both in the passenger and cargo segments) and is preparing to welcome a growing number of travellers on the occasion of the Milan Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games.
The aim of the agreement is to create a synergistic collaboration between the Postal Police and SEA to prevent and counter any cyber attacks, through a constant exchange of information, the adoption of shared security standards and the monitoring of technological vulnerabilities.
A central element of the understanding is represented by training. Postal Police specialists will conduct periodic training sessions for airport staff, with the aim of increasing awareness of cyber risks and improving response capabilities in the event of digital emergencies.
The signing took place between Manuela De Giorgi, Director of the Cyber Security Operations Center of Lombardy, and Alessandro Fidato, Chief Operating Officer and Accountable Manager of SEA, the company that manages the airports of Milan Malpensa and Linate.
Alessandro Fidato, Chief Operating Officer and Accountable Manager of SEA, underlined how this collaboration represents a fundamental step to ensure the operational continuity and safety of the airport services of the SEA Milan Airports group: "Bringing together skills, experience and cutting-edge technologies, together with the Cyber Security Operations Center, guarantees a culture of prevention and awareness in our organizations".
