Forlì's Luigi Ridolfi Airport celebrates its 90th anniversary in 2026 and on Sunday 27 September it will open its spaces to the public with a day dedicated to the aeronautical history of the airport, Aviation activities, training and the relationship with the territory. The initiative will retrace the period between 1936 and 2026 through historic aircraft, exhibitions and events also aimed at children and families.
Aircraft already announced include:
- the Caproni Ca.3 I-ZANA, linked to the figure of Luigi Ridolfi,
- the SPAD S.XIII I-JONA, ASSOCIATED WITH Francesco Baracca,
and the Fokker Dr.1 M I-LYNC, which recalls the famous "Red Baron".
There will also be historic aircraft of the Historical Aircraft Group and aircraft belonging to the flight departments of the State.
The first planes will begin to arrive at Forlì airport as early as Saturday 26 September. The following morning the public will be able to attend some arrivals, while in the afternoon the departures of the aircraft present at the event are scheduled.
An exhibition curated by the Arma Aeronautica Association of Forlì will also retrace the ninety years of activity of the Ridolfi.
The program aims to tell not only the memory of the airport, but also the aeronautical ecosystem of Forlì, today linked to training, operational activities and professionalism in the sector.
A specific space will be dedicated to the new generations with workshops, initiatives on the world of flight and model aircraft activities aimed at children and families.
For the ninetieth anniversary, a commemorative postcard will also be available, on which it will be possible to obtain the official philatelic cancellation of Poste Italiane with a stamp made for the occasion.
The day of 27 September will therefore represent an opportunity to bring the public closer to Forlì Airport and the aeronautical culture that has developed around the Ridolfi in nine decades, relating the historical heritage, training and contemporary activities of the airport.
