Enhanced mobile connectivity at Malpensa and Linate

Ensuring complete and symmetrical mobile coverage within airport facilities is a strategic element to transform the transport network and the city itself into a true smart city. Thanks to the agreement between Cellnex Italia and SEA, the company that manages Milan Malpensa and Milan Linate airports, Fastweb+Vodafone, iliad and Windtre users can now count on a dedicated, stable and high-performance mobile connection in all areas of both airports.

The two DAS (Distributed Antenna System) infrastructures installed in the two airports include a network of 650 mini-antennas, designed to minimize the visual and electromagnetic impact. The antennas are strategically distributed in the departures and arrivals areas of airports and connected through 25 km of optical fiber for complete coverage, with minimal interference and optimal performance.

The new next-generation networks not only guarantee a high-quality radio-mobile connection, but also offer the latency and stability necessary for the development of IoT solutions, crucial for enhancing security and operational efficiency in closed and high-traffic contexts such as airports.
