Doha's Hamad International Airport expands
New Halls D and E for an unprecedented travel experience and which will increase the annual passenger capacity to over 65 million
Hamad International Airport (DOH), recognized by Skytrax 2024 as the World's Best Airport, has inaugurated new Halls D and E, completing its expansion ahead of schedule and bringing annual capacity to more than 65 million passengers.

State-of-the-art technology for a seamless journey
The new halls introduce autonomous boarding systems and smart technology, simplifying checks and reducing wait times for faster and more efficient passenger flow.

More global connections and destinations
As gates increase and operations are optimized, the expansion reinforces Doha's role as a global hub, welcoming more airlines and offering new direct routes to major international destinations.
Premium passenger experience
The expansion improves comfort and services with new lounges, ergonomic relaxation areas and an expanded retail offering . Qatar Duty Free introduces over 10 new outlets and restaurants, increasing the airport's retail space by 2,700 square meters.

A commitment to sustainability
Halls D and E are designed to achieve GSAS 4-Star Design & Build and LEED Gold certifications, with energy-efficient solutions, optimized water management and advanced accessibility for all travelers.

This inauguration marks the final phase of the development plan that began in 2018 and culminated with the opening of the ORCHARD, the lush 6,000-square-meter covered tropical garden that transforms the airport into a unique experience. With 17 new contact gates and an 842,000 square metre terminal, Doha's Hamad International Airport consolidates its position of excellence in global aviation and strengthens Qatar Airways' entire network.
