Wizz Air opens the new Alghero-Venice flight
Wizz Air inaugurates the new direct flight between Alghero and Venice, operating from 1 July to 4 September 2026. The route is served three times a week, every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, offering passengers from Northern Sardinia a direct connection to one of Italy's main tourist and cultural cities.
The flight strengthens the connectivity of Alghero Airport and expands travel opportunities to the North-East of Italy. Thanks to Wizz Air's base at Venice's Marco Polo Airport, passengers can also more easily access other European destinations served by the airline.
In summer 2026, Wizz Air operates a total of 11 destinations from Northern Sardinia: eight from Alghero and three from Olbia. From Alghero, connections are planned with Budapest, Bucharest, Sofia, Belgrade, Warsaw Modlin, Tirana, Venice and Skopje, starting from 18 July.
The company is making over 439,000 seats available in the 2026 summer season, with a growth of 253% at Alghero airport compared to the previous summer. The new connection thus contributes to strengthening the accessibility of Northern Sardinia, favoring both the mobility of residents and tourist flows to Alghero and the Coral Riviera.
