Wizz Air connects Alghero to Tirana
Wizz Air inaugurates the new direct flight between Alghero and Tirana, one of the novelties of summer 2026 from the airport of Northern Sardinia. The flight will operate from 24 June to 9 September 2026 with two weekly frequencies, on Wednesdays and Sundays.
The new route to Tirana expands travel possibilities between north-western Sardinia and the Balkan area, adding to Wizz Air's summer network from Alghero. For Summer 2026, the airline will operate eight destinations from the airport: Belgrade, Bucharest, Budapest, Skopje, Sofia, Tirana, Warsaw (Modlin Airport- WMI) and Venice.
Among the seasonal novelties there are also the connection to Venice, departing from 1 July with flights on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, and the one to Skopje, operating from 18 July on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
In summer 2026, Wizz Air will make over 311 thousand seats available to and from Alghero, with a growth of 253% compared to the previous summer season. The company thus becomes the airport's third carrier in terms of market share, equal to 13.8%.
For passengers, the strengthening of Wizz Air's offer from Alghero Airport means more direct flights from Northern Sardinia to Central, Eastern and Balkan Europe, with new options for both leisure travel and travel to growing European cities and markets.
