Volotea takes off to Heraklion from Palermo
Volotea has inaugurated a new international flight departing from Palermo and heading to Heraklion, the largest city on the island of Crete. Operated every Tuesday, the new route represents an absolute novelty for the summer season, offering Sicilian passengers almost 3,000 seats available for the entire operating period.
This new connection strengthens the international offer departing from Falcone e Borsellino Airport and joins another recent novelty of 2025: the flight to Bilbao, active from the beginning of April. The Greek destination of Heraklion enriches travel possibilities to the Eastern Mediterranean, offering new opportunities for both cultural and seaside holidays.
In 2025, Volotea will operate a total of 19 routes from Palermo, of which 14 are international. The destinations include 5 Italian cities (Florence, Naples, Olbia, Venice and Verona), 9 French cities (Bordeaux, Brest, Deauville, Lille, Lyon, Lourdes-Tarbes, Nantes, Strasbourg and Toulouse), 4 in Greece (Athens, Santorini, Zakynthos and the new Heraklion) and 1 in Spain (Bilbao).
