Volotea: record-breaking summer for performance and quality

Between June and August, the carrier of small and medium-sized European cities exceeded 4 million passengers, with a load factor of 94%, growing punctuality and a sharply increasing Net Promoter Score also in Italy

For Volotea, summer 2025 closes with a decidedly positive balance. The airline specialising in connections between small and medium-sized European cities has achieved outstanding operational and quality results, consolidating its reputation as a reliable and appreciated carrier on the continental scene.

In the period from June to August, the Volotea network recorded over 25,000 flights operated and more than 4 million passengers carried, with a load factor of 94%, among the highest in the industry. During the summer, 21 new routes were inaugurated in Europe and the OTP15 punctuality index (flights landed within 15 minutes of the scheduled time) reached 71%, up about four percentage points compared to 2024.

On the operational reliability front, the company reached a completion factof 99.6%, confirming, according to Cirium data, the leading European low-cost airline for completed flights. The Net Promoter Score (NPS) – a key indicator for measuring customer satisfaction – also reflects the success: in the first eight months of the year, the value at the network level reached 44, while among the members of the Megavolotea program it was close to 55 points, a sign of a particularly high satisfaction by frequent flyers.

Focus on the Italian market

In Italy, between June and August, Volotea operated almost 10,000 flights, providing over 1.7 million seats and carrying more than 1.6 million passengers, with a load factor of 93%. Punctuality recorded excellent performances in several bases: Bari (76.89%, +12%), Florence (81.09%, +9%) and Verona (79.20%, +14%). During the quarter, destinations and four new domestic and international routes were inaugurated: Alghero–Bordeaux, Alghero–Marseille, Bari–Bordeaux and Florence–Alghero. Despite some unforeseen events due to bad weather, the completion factor in Italy reached 98.74%, confirming the high operational reliability.

Passenger satisfaction grows

From a customer experience point of view, summer 2025 saw an increase in NPS of almost 14 points in Italy compared to the same period in 2024, reaching 41 points. The result among Megavolotea members was even more brilliant, with an NPS of 51.2, testimony to the growing appreciation by the most loyal customers.

Finally, in terms of employment, Volotea has strengthened its national presence with a workforce that, in the summer peaks, exceeded 440 employees. A concrete sign of the commitment to the Italian market and the solidity of a growth model that combines network expansion and quality of service.
