Volotea opens the new Bari-Montpellier flight for summer 2027
Volotea will connect Bari and Montpellier for the first time with a new direct flight operating from 25 June 2027. The route will be served twice a week, every Tuesday and Friday, with a total offer of 7,200 seats.
For Apulian passengers, the new connection expands the possibilities of travel to the south of France without stopping, while for the French market it opens up a new direct access to Puglia.
The route will be operated exclusively by Volotea and will represent the company's only direct connection between Montpellier and Italy. With the entry of Montpellier, in 2027 the destinations served by Volotea from Bari will rise to 12: Olbia in Italy, Split in Croatia, Bordeaux and Montpellier in France, Kefalonia, Corfu, Heraklion, Mykonos, Preveza, Santorini and Zakynthos in Greece, as well as Bilbao in Spain.
Montpellier, between the historic center and the Mediterranean
Montpellier is one of the main cities in Occitanie and combines a lively old town, contemporary architecture and a favorable location to reach the Mediterranean. The new route can therefore be of interest to both those looking for a city break in the south of France and those who want to use the city as a starting point to explore the region.
A new Volotea base in the south of France
The announcement of the Bari-Montpellier comes on the occasion of the opening of the new Volotea operational base in Montpellier, where the company has been present since 2012. In 2027, the carrier will offer 14 destinations in three countries - France, Spain and Italy - and almost 420,000 seats from the airport. Montpellier thus becomes Volotea's fourth base in Occitanie, along with Toulouse, Rodez and Lourdes.
Tickets for the new Bari-Montpellier flight are already available on the company's website and in travel agencies.
