Volotea celebrates 5 years at the Naples base

Direct flights to 22 destinations in 6 countries (Italy, Greece, France, Spain, Croatia and Denmark). The leisure component is significant: 48% to the islands, 47% to the domestic network

In the summer of 2020, Volotea, in the midst of the pandemic crisis, opened its operational base at Naples International Airport. Five years later, the choice proves to be a winning one. The airline has in fact consolidated its presence in the Campania capital, transforming it into a strategic hub for its national and international network.

From 2013 – the year in which Volotea started flying from Naples – to date, more than 5.2 million passengers have been transported, almost 2.5 million of whom in the last five years alone. Forty-two thousand flights operated in total, with an offer that has been able to intercept the needs of an increasingly vast and varied audience. Among the favorite destinations are the Greek islands, which represent a pillar of the Volotea summer from Capodichino: destinations that, flight after flight, have strengthened the carrier's positioning as a reference point for those who choose the eastern Mediterranean.

But the link between Volotea and Naples goes far beyond air transport. The company has also invested in culture, supporting projects such as the redevelopment of the access area to the MANN – the National Archaeological Museum of Naples – and creating a space dedicated to children. A concrete commitment that testifies to the desire to be an active part in the life of the city, contributing to its social and cultural development.

To further strengthen this bond there is also the employment aspect: in peak periods, the Neapolitan base employs over 70 employees, of which about a third are from Campania, generating significant repercussions on the local economy.

2025 is proving to be a year of strong growth for Volotea at Naples airport. The supply of places exceeded 620,000, up +18% compared to 2024 and even +51% compared to 2020. More than 3,500 flights are planned to and from Naples to 22 destinations in six countries: Italy, Greece, France, Spain, Croatia and Denmark. The leisure offer is particularly wide: almost 50% of the available seats are to the islands, while 47% is dedicated to domestic routes.

Excellent operating performance. In the first half of 2025, Volotea recorded a punctuality rate of 77.8% on arrivals and 80% on departures, with a completion rate of 98.6%, which reaches 100% excluding external causes.

Finally, traveler satisfaction rewards Volotea's efforts: according to data collected up to June, the Net Promoter Score of Megavolotea customers in Naples reached 52.4, with 9 out of 10 passengers ready to recommend the company.
