Ryanair introduces larger free carry-on bag

A personal bag 33% larger is allowed, up to 40x30x20 cm

Ryanair has completed the installation of new hand baggage meters at all 235 airports where it operates in Europe.

As of Thursday, September 4, each passenger can bring a larger personal bag on board free of charge, with maximum dimensions of 40x30x20 cm, which is a 33% increase over the EU standard of 40x30x15 cm.

The company reminds that each passenger is entitled to only one free piece of luggage to be stored under the seat. If you want to take a second piece of baggage with you in the cabin, you can purchase the priority boarding option, or choose checked baggage during the booking process.

"Our new free cabin bag is now 33% larger than the EU standard," commented Dara Brady, CMO of Ryanair, "and we are confident that customers will appreciate this benefit. Those who do not comply with the new limits, however, will have to pay the fee for checked baggage at the boarding gate".
