New Bologna-Palermo flight with Wizz Air
Wizz Air strengthens its presence at Bologna Airport (BLQ) and, for Summer 2026, puts on sale 939 thousand seats, 20% more than in summer 2025, with 12 connections to 6 countries and 76 weekly frequencies.
The main novelty is the new Bologna - Palermo route, operational from 1 August 2026 with 11 weekly frequencies and up to two flights a day. The connection will be made with Airbus A321neo.
In addition to the new route to Palermo, there is the Bologna - Suceava flight, which started in December 2025 and operates three times a week.
In summer 2026, Wizz Air will fly from Bologna to several destinations Palermo, Suceava, Catania, Tirana, Skopje, Chișinău, Warsaw, Cluj-Napoca, Craiova, Iași, Bucharest and Timișoara. Some routes will be operated daily, including Catania, Warsaw and Cluj-Napoca, while Tirana and Bucharest will arrive up to two daily flights.
Present at Marconi since 2008, Wizz Air is now the airport's second largest carrier with a market share of 11.3%. For Travellers, the strengthening of the network means new travel opportunities from Bologna to Sicily, Eastern Europe, the Balkans and European capitals.
