Direct flight Milan - Abu Dhabi with Wizz Air
The new low-cost intercontinental flight takes off from Milan Malpensa airport from 2 June 2025
Wizz Air has announced that one of its new Airbus A321XLR will be based at Milan Malpensa Airport from June 2025. This marks the beginning of a new era for intercontinental travel, with a new direct route to Abu Dhabi, in the United Arab Emirates. Tickets, which go on sale now from €99.99, will offer an economical and sustainable travel option. The A321XLR (Extra Long Range) will make it possible to expand destinations and increase the capacity and seasonality of flights from Malpensa.
From 2 June 2025, the new direct route will connect Milan and Abu Dhabi daily with a flight of more than 7 hours, making travel more accessible thanks to the increased range and efficiency of the Airbus A321XLR. It is estimated that the carbon intensity of Airbus A321XLR will be at least 30% lower than that of other carriers on the same routes.
This new base at Malpensa strengthens Wizz Air's Italian network, which has introduced over 50 new routes and created thousands of jobs since 2020. The innovative aircraft will offer direct access to distant destinations with an enhanced travel experience, further consolidating the company's presence in Italy.
