Swiss brings Starlink Wi-Fi on board
SWISS is gradually introducing Starlink's high-speed satellite internet connection on board, with the aim of offering passengers faster and more stable access to the network throughout the entire journey, from boarding to disembarking.
The service debuts on September 28, 2026 on an Airbus A320neo, registration HB-JDM, christened Iseltwald. The first operational flight with the new technology is the LX1852 from Zurich to Thessaloniki. The offer is part of the group's new service called "Lufthansa Group Wi-Fi powered by Starlink".
The connection will be available free of charge in all travel classes after logging in via Travel ID or Miles & More service card number. Passengers will be able to use online services, send messages and share photos during the flight.
After the first A320neo, Swiss plans to equip three more Airbus A320 family aircraft, and then progressively extend Starlink to the rest of the fleet. Installation on all aircraft is expected to be completed by the end of 2029.
Some limitations of use remain: for audio and video, the use of headphones will be required, while voice calls, video calls and livestreams will not be allowed during the flight.
