Retrofit of Lufthansa Business Class
Lufthansa invests in fleet renewal and modernizes the cabin interiors of larger aircraft. Other upgrades include the Boeing 747-8 and Airbus A350-900 with new seats in all classes. For "Retrofit", the Airbus A380-800 will be equipped with new Business Class seats from February at the Elbe Flugzeugwerke in Dresden. Further modernizations of the existing fleet will follow shortly.
The A380 will be equipped with Business Class seats from the manufacturer Thompson. Each seat will have direct aisle access and offer a width of 58 cm, a bed length of at least two meters, Bluetooth connectivity and flexible dividers, offering comfort and privacy at a new premium level.
Passengers will be able to enjoy the new Business Class on board the Lufthansa A380 from April for long-haul flights.
In total, the A380 will be equipped with 68 new Business Class seats. In addition, with eight seats in First Class, 52 seats in Premium Economy and 371 seats in Economy, the A380 is the largest long-haul aircraft in the Lufthansa fleet. The first aircraft is expected to arrive in Munich in April 2026 to fly regularly in the centenary year of the Lufthansa Group. By mid-2027, all eight A380s are expected to be completely refurbished.
