New seats on Wizz Air's A321neo

The company will introduce around 45,000 new Geven seats: more optimised space, lighter cabin and operational efficiency, with benefits also on travel comfort

Wizz Air is preparing to introduce new passenger seats on board its Airbus A321neo, thanks to the strengthening of its collaboration with Geven, a company specializing in aircraft seating solutions. The agreement covers almost 200 shipsets, for a total of about 45,000 seats, destined for the company's expanding fleet.

For passengers, the novelty translates into an update of the cabin designed to combine comfort and efficiency. Wizz Air has in fact chosen the Eva model, a seat developed for high-density single-aisle aircraft, designed to offer better ergonomics and more efficient management of space on board.

Among the distinctive elements of the new seat is the composite backrest, designed to increase the perceived knee room, as well as a lightened structure that eliminates the traditional seat base. A solution that aims to improve the travel experience even in cabins with high-capacity configurations.

The introduction of lighter seats also brings advantages on the operational front: the reduction in the overall weight of the equipment can in fact help to contain fuel consumption and emissions. Added to this is a design conceived to simplify maintenance and management over time.

The visual appearance of the cabin will also be part of the renovation. The new seats will have custom finishes inspired by Wizz Air's brand identity, with a bespoke design that echoes the airline's distinctive colours.
