Latam Airlines strengthens the air bridge between Europe and Brazil with new direct flights to São Paulo
LATAM Airlines announces a major strengthening of its network between Europe and South America with the entry of Amsterdam and Brussels among the European departure points directly connected to São Paulo-Guarulhos (GRU), the group's main hub in Latin America.
Starting from April 2026, the Amsterdam (AMS) - São Paulo (GRU) route will be inaugurated with three weekly flights, while from June 2026 the new Brussels (BRU) - São Paulo (GRU) route will debut, also with three frequencies per week.
At the same time, the company confirmed the increase in capacity on some routes already operating between Europe and Brazil:
- Rome – São Paulo: daily flights from June 2026
- Barcelona – São Paulo: daily flights from June 2026
- Madrid – São Paulo: two daily flights from July 2026.
For leisure Travellers, the route represents an opportunity to discover:
- the cosmopolitan metropolis of São Paulo, with its ever-changing gastronomic and cultural scene;
- the main Brazilian tourist destinations reachable with a single stopover, including Rio de Janeiro, Salvador, Recife, Fortaleza and Manaus;
- the great South American routes, with convenient connections to Lima, Santiago de Chile, Buenos Aires, Montevideo and Asunción.
For the business segment, the direct connection reduces travel times and the need for intermediate stopovers, making corporate traffic between Northern Europe and the economic-financial hub of São Paulo more efficient.
A stronger European network to Brazil and South America
With the activation of the new routes and the increase in frequencies in 2026, LATAM Airlines plans to operate 90 weekly flights between 10 European cities and South America. The connections will depart from the destinations of: Madrid, Barcelona, Paris, London, Milan, Rome, Frankfurt, Lisbon, Amsterdam and Brussels, all connected to the large hub of São Paulo-Guarulhos.
Thanks to this hub and spoke structure, passengers arriving from Europe will be able to easily continue to: over 50 destinations in Brazil, including the main cities in the north-east and the interior of the country; the major South American capitals served by the LATAM group, such as Lima, Santiago, Buenos Aires and Montevideo, as well as other iconic centers in the region.
All new flights on the Europe–São Paulo route will be operated with Boeing 787-9s, configured with: 30 seats in Business Class, with full-flat seats and dedicated services; 270 seats in Economy, with on-demand entertainment and services designed for long intercontinental journeys.
