LATAM Airlines achieves 4 Skytrax stars
The South American airline LATAM Airlines Group has obtained the 4-Star Airline certification in Skytrax's international service rating system, becoming the first airline in Latin America to reach this level in the prestigious global rating dedicated to the quality of the travel experience.
The recognition comes after a comprehensive audit that analyzed the passenger's entire journey, from airport operations to on-board services, assessing the consistency and effectiveness of the standards offered by the company on all routes.
The Skytrax rating system assigns airlines from one to five stars based on independent audits conducted directly at airports and on board aircraft.
Achieving 4-star certification means demonstrating a consistently high level of operational quality and service throughout all stages of the journey.
Among the elements that contributed to the rating upgrade were advances in airport operations and the digital passenger experience. The company has worked to make travel procedures smoother, improving:
- check-in and assistance processes at the airport,
- the organization of boarding operations,
- the quality and consistency of lounge services,
- digital platforms and customer interaction.
The aim is to ensure a uniform standard of service regardless of the destination or departure hub.
Another determining factor was the renewal of the on-board product, particularly on long-haul routes.
The new Premium Business cabins introduce fully reclining Business Suites, designed to provide greater privacy and comfort during intercontinental flights. Among the main features:
- fully flat-bed seats,
- 18-inch HD screens,
- USB ports for charging devices,
Partition doors for added privacy.
The interior design is inspired by the natural landscapes of South America, helping to strengthen the brand's identity during the trip.
Connectivity is another pillar of the evolution of the LATAM product. The airline has progressively introduced Wi-Fi on a growing part of the fleet, allowing passengers to surf online from their personal devices during the flight.
In addition to the internet connection, the LATAM Play entertainment system allows you to access a wide catalog of movies, TV series, music and digital content directly from your smartphone, tablet or laptop.
LATAM Airlines Group is today the largest airline group in Latin America, with a presence in the domestic markets of Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru, as well as international connections to Europe, the United States, the Caribbean, Africa and Oceania.
The fleet includes Boeing 767, 777 and 787 aircraft, as well as the Airbus A319, A320, A320neo, A321 and A321neo family, while the cargo subsidiaries operate a dedicated fleet for international freight.
