American Airlines returns to fly from Naples to Philadelphia and Chicago
American Airlines strengthens connections between Southern Italy and the United States with the resumption of seasonal flights from Naples-Capodichino International Airport to Philadelphia and Chicago O'Hare. During the 2026 summer season, the airline operates two flights a day from Naples, connecting Campania to two major American hubs and expanding travel possibilities for leisure and business passengers.
The return of connections confirms the growing role of Naples as a gateway to the South for North American traffic. For U.S. Travellers, direct flights make it easier to reach Naples, the Amalfi Coast, the Gulf Islands and the main tourist destinations in Southern Italy. For Italian passengers, however, Philadelphia and Chicago become privileged entry points to a wide network of destinations in the United States, Canada, the Caribbean and Mexico.
The Naples-Philadelphia route connects the Campania airport to American Airlines' main transatlantic hub, from which it is possible to continue to over 100 destinations in the United States, Canada and the Caribbean. The connection to Chicago O'Hare, one of the airline's main hubs in the United States, offers access to more than 500 daily flights during peak periods, to over 150 destinations in North America, the Caribbean and Mexico.
The flights are operated with Boeing 787-8 aircraft, configured with 20 Business Class seats, 28 Premium Economy seats and 186 Main Cabin seats. On board, passengers can enjoy a modern interior, high-speed Wi-Fi from AT&T and an entertainment system with 1,500 free pieces of content available from every seat.
