The new difstore at Milan Bergamo Airport enriches the passenger experience

The new concept store strengthens the airport's commercial offer and offers Travellers a more immersive, welcoming and locally linked space

The new difstore was inaugurated at Milan Bergamo Airport, opened in the departures area after security checks. The brand has a thirty-year presence in the airport, but this new opening represents a further step in the evolution of the airport's commercial offer, with a space designed to accompany passengers more carefully along the route to boarding. The new store is part of a phase of growth of the airport increasingly oriented towards improving services and the overall quality of the travel experience.

More comfort and quality before boarding

The new difstore is located in a strategic point of the terminal, where waiting time can become an integral part of the airport experience. The goal is not only to expand the commercial offer, but to make the time before the flight more pleasant, welcoming and interesting. In this sense, the new space contributes to strengthening the non-aviation dimension of the airport, which is increasingly central for airports that want to offer passengers well-kept environments and services in line with the expectations of an international audience.

A store that focuses on atmosphere and relationship

The concept of the new difstore has been developed to go beyond the simple commercial function. Natural materials, light and circular shapes define a contemporary and immersive space, designed to put the passenger at the center and accompany him with a more relaxed and pleasant atmosphere. The project reflects the desire to create an environment in which service, relationship and quality of space dialogue coherently, transforming the store into a real point of reference within the departures terminal.

A showcase that also speaks of the territory

The new difstore was also presented as a showcase for the territory, capable of relating local identity and international dimension. It is an aspect that adds value to the initiative, because it inserts the store into a broader vision, in which the airport also becomes a place of storytelling and representation of the context in which it is located. The local design and construction, combined with the desire to enhance the bond built over the years between DIF and the airport, contribute to giving the space a precise and recognizable identity.

The airport as a hub of increasingly integrated services

During the inauguration, not only the new store was discussed, but also Dif Spa projects that look to the future of services connected to Milan Bergamo Airport. These include the redevelopment of an industrial building just a few minutes from the airport, destined to become a hybrid accommodation facility, a contemporary hostel designed to dialogue with airport flows and complete the area's hospitality offer. A project that responds to the concrete needs of travellers and expands the relationship between airport and reception.

Alongside this, NextBg, an e-bike rental service designed to promote sustainable mobility to discover the area, was also presented. The project reinforces the idea of an airport that is not limited to the management of air travel, but proposes itself as a point of connection between retail, hospitality, mobility and complementary services. A perspective that gives the image of an airport that is increasingly integrated with its surroundings.

An inauguration transformed into an experience

The inaugural day was also designed as a concrete anticipation of the spirit of the new defender. The program combined live music, meeting with the author, photography and haute cuisine, building around the store a story made up of experiences and contents. The presence of the Polytechnic of the Arts of Bergamo, the signing of copies of Luca Bianchini's new book "The Girls of Tunis", the photographic exhibition "Black & White Travel Notes" by Andrea Santicoli and the cooking show signed by "Da Vittorio" underlined the desire to give the new space a broader dimension than that of a traditional store.

With the new difstore, Milan Bergamo Airport (BGY) adds a further element to the growth path of services dedicated to passengers. The opening of the new space tells the story of an idea of an airport that is increasingly attentive to the quality of time spent in the terminal, to hospitality and to the possibility of offering something more than just the functionality of travel. It is in this direction that the Bergamo airport continues to evolve, combining infrastructural development with increasing care for the overall passenger experience.
