Lagardère Travel Retail wins the tender for Duty Free at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol

Lagardère Travel Retail has won one of the most important tenders in the travel retail sector, obtaining the management of all Duty Free operations at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, the fourth largest airport hub in Europe. This result consolidates a ten-year partnership between Lagardère Travel Retail and Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, marking a turning point in the Dutch airport's commercial strategy.

 

As part of the agreement, Lagardère Travel Retail will acquire 70% of the company that will manage the Duty Free operations, while the remaining 30% will be held by Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. This new assignment reinforces Lagardère's ten years of successful business in the fashion and souvenir industry at the airport, now leading to the operation of more than twenty Duty Free shops. An achievement that testifies to the company's operational excellence and its commitment to offering travelers world-class shopping experiences .

 

The collaboration will focus on key categories such as perfumes and cosmetics, sunglasses, spirits, tobacco and confectionery. The renovation plans include an expansion and redesign of retail spaces, with the aim of creating a unique, fluid and memorable shopping experience for travelers. Amsterdam Schiphol Airport represents a tremendous opportunity for Lagardère Travel Retail to strengthen its presence in Europe's key Duty Free markets, with a shared vision to redefine industry standards.

 

The completion of the transaction is subject to the approval of the Dutch competition authorities and other standard regulatory conditions, with the closing expected by the first half of 2025.
