A fundraiser for cancer research in Italian airports
In Italian airports, shopping can turn into a concrete gesture in favor of scientific research. Lagardère Travel Retail Italia has launched a new fundraising campaign in support of the Umberto Veronesi Foundation, involving Travellers who frequent its points of sale in the airports and in the main Italian stations.
The initiative allows customers of Travel Essentials stores and Dining points managed by the group to participate in the fundraiser through a small donation at the time of purchase. The entire proceeds will be used to support scientific research projects and programs dedicated to the prevention and treatment of cancer.
How to participate in the fundraiser
During the campaign period, Travellers can contribute in a simple way: by purchasing products in Lagardère stores and adding a donation of €0.50 or multiples to their purchase.
Participation is open to all customers who frequent the group's stores, present in numerous Italian airports, where thousands of departing or arriving passengers pass through every day. The initiative therefore transforms an everyday gesture – such as buying a coffee or a bottle of water before the flight – into a concrete contribution to research.
The funds raised will be entirely donated to the Umberto Veronesi Foundation, an organization that has been engaged for years in financing cancer research projects and promoting prevention.
The foundation supports researchers and scientific programs dedicated to the study of cancer, with the aim of developing new therapies and improving the chances of early diagnosis.
