Palermo Airport: Autogrill's Amore restaurant and Planeta Wine Bar open
Palermo Falcone Borsellino International Airport expands its food & beverage offer with the opening of Autogrill's Amore restaurant and the Planeta Wine Bar, created in collaboration with Prezzemolo & Vitale.
The new area is located on the third level of the terminal, after security checks and with access from duty free, and is designed to enhance the Sicilian food and wine culture within the travel route.
The new space occupies about 400 square meters and has 100 seats. The project combines catering, wine and products related to the local tradition in a contemporary environment, with renovated systems and equipment to improve comfort and functionality.
For passengers, the novelty means being able to find a more articulated offer before boarding after security checks. Amore, Autogrill's concept dedicated to Italian cuisine, is joined by the Planeta Wine Bar, which brings to the airport a proposal focused on wine and Sicilian gastronomic identity.
The intervention is part of the broader commercial redevelopment process launched by GESAP, the management company of Palermo airport, with the aim of making the airport not only a transit point but also a showcase of the excellence of the territory and Palermo. According to CEO Gianfranco Battisti, catering, retail, lounges and new spaces must be considered part of a single "airport hospitality" system capable of accompanying the traveler during their stay at the airport.
The collaboration between Autogrill, Planeta and Prezzemolo & Vitale thus strengthens the link between the airport and the destination: for those who leave, the last opportunity to experience Sicilian flavours and products; for those who arrive, a first contact with the gastronomic identity of the island.
