Avion Tourism Magazine takes you to discover the World Heritage Sites of Puglia and Basilicata, renowned Italian regions of Southern Italy that tell a rich history preserving heritages of inestimable value and that are definitely worth a trip. In fact, these sites represent authentic gems that testify to the richness and diversity of the heritage of two exceptional regions, which can be visited at any time of the year.
These sites are only a small part of the entire heritage preserved in our beautiful country, given that, to date, UNESCO has recognized 1154 sites (897 Cultural Sites, 218 Natural Sites and 39 Mixed Sites) present in 167 countries around the world. Italy, in this vast global panorama, welcomes 58 of them, which are the largest number of sites per country included in the list of World Heritage Sites.
The World Heritage List in Italy is made up of 45 sites that are part of the Cultural Heritage, 5 sites that are part of the Natural Heritage, 8 sites that are part of the Cultural Landscape.

The World Heritage sites of Puglia and Basilicata offer unmissable experiences that motivate the visit of these extraordinary places.
