This initiative comes after the success of the exhibition “Imagining the future – Leonardo da Vinci: In the mind of an Italian genius”, organized by Confindustria for the opening of its new headquarters in Washington D.C. in the summer of 2023. This event brought, for the first time ever, twelve tables of Da Vinci’s Codex Atlanticus from the Biblioteca Ambrosiana to the United States, with Dolce&Gabbana serving as a major partner. The fashion house is reaffirming its support for Italian artistic and cultural capital by auctioning twelve special Alta Sartoria foulards. The entire proceeds from the sale will be donated to the Veneranda Biblioteca Ambrosiana in Milan, contributing to the conservation and preservation of its heritage.

Each silk foulard in this collection represents a distinctive Dolce&Gabbana Alta Sartoria creation, drawing inspiration from one of the twelve tables of the Codex Atlanticus, which were the focal point of the exhibition. These tables have now returned to the Biblioteca Ambrosiana, where they will be securely stored in darkness for the next three years.
