The hypnotic fragrance Velvet Crystal Smoke
Dolce&Gabbana enriches its exclusive Velvet Collection with Velvet Crystal Smoke, a new olfactory creation that celebrates the magnetic charm of opposites. The fragrance comes from the encounter between the warm, enveloping and slightly smoky notes of incense and the sweet and spicy scent of star anise, two natural ingredients chosen for their uniqueness and opulence.
Conceived as an intimate and mysterious sensory journey, Velvet Crystal Smoke combines traditions and cultural suggestions: Sicilian culture is intertwined with the rich oriental tradition, giving life to an olfactory experience that transcends geographical and temporal boundaries.
Signed by maître parfumeur Aliénor Massenet, the composition develops around the duality of incense and star anise, ingredients full of history and symbolism, evocative of the wisdom of ancient Egypt and Sicilian mysticism. Velvet Crystal Smoke is configured as a dialogue between the divine and the earthly dimension.
The opening is dominated by the spicy nuances of star anise, whose fiery aroma was once thought to ward off evil spirits. To this is added incense, with its resinous and deep scent, celebrated by the Egyptians as the "perfume of the gods".
The heart of the fragrance is illuminated by a crystalline combination of mineral woods and salty ambergris, the latter revered in the past as the "floating gold" of the ocean. The trail closes on a warm and resinous base of patchouli and fir balm, giving life to a creation with hypnotic contrasts, in balance between shadow and light.
Velvet Crystal Smoke is housed in the iconic glass bottle of the Dolce&Gabbana Velvet Collection, sealed by a light grey velvet cap with golden details. The fragrance is presented in a black velvet box, embellished with a golden plaque that recalls the Maison's distinctive stylistic codes. The collector's fragrance is available from March 2026 on the official website, in Dolce&Gabbana boutiques and at a selection of retailers around the world.
