Vacheron Constantin, thirty years of Overseas in blue
To celebrate 30 years of the Overseas collection, Vacheron Constantin presents a new interpretation of the Overseas Ultra-Thin Perpetual Calendar, made in 200 pieces. The model combines a white gold case with a new blue dial for the first time, striking a balance between sportiness, elegance and Haute Horlogerie.
The shade chosen is lighter, less intense and less saturated than the blue introduced in the collection in 2016. The color changes shade depending on the light and is enhanced by the discreet brightness of white gold. The moon phase disc also takes up the same hue, while white gold applied indexes and hands create a subtle contrast that favors legibility without altering the balance of the dial.
At the heart of the watch is the Manufacture Calibre 1120 QP/1, an automatic mechanical movement just 4.05 mm thick, which allows the case to maintain an overall thickness of only 8.1 mm. The perpetual calendar indicates the date, day of the week, month, leap year and moon phase and is programmed to automatically take into account the different lengths of months and leap years, without requiring adjustments until 2100.
The case measures 41.5 mm in diameter and is water-resistant to 5 bar. The movement is made up of 276 parts, offers approximately 40 hours of power reserve and is certified by the Geneva Hallmark. Through the transparent sapphire crystal caseback, the finishes of the caliber are visible, with Côtes de Genève, chamfering and perlage, together with the 22-carat gold oscillating weight engraved with a compass rose, a reference to the spirit of exploration of the collection.
Completing the model are an integrated white gold bracelet and two interchangeable textured rubber straps, one white and one denim blue. The quick-change system allows them to be changed without using tools, reinforcing the versatility that has accompanied Overseas since its most recent evolution.
With this limited edition, Vacheron Constantin celebrates the thirtieth anniversary of the collection with a timepiece that retains Overseas' vocation for travel, alongside one of the most sophisticated complications in mechanical watchmaking and a brighter, more contemporary aesthetic.
