Viktor&Rolf Spring-Summer 2026 Haute Couture Collection
For Spring/Summer 2026, Viktor&Rolf presented in Paris, Diamond Kite, a Haute Couture collection that interprets the concept of freedom through childhood wonder, imagination and the transformative power of elevation. A visual and conceptual story where couture becomes a means of escape and, at the same time, a tool for reflection.
At the heart of the collection is the kite, a universal symbol of escape, timeless escape and transcendence. This poetic element is not just a narrative reference, but takes on a structural and spiritual role, influencing silhouette, movement and the overall presentation of the collection. The kite thus becomes a design device that guides the entire collection, from design to realization.
Each look precisely explores the space between concept and construction. The Haute Couture craftsmanship meets a creative engineering approach, giving life to experimental and playful garments, where theatricality and functionality coexist without contradicting each other. Couture is treated as a field of research, capable of supporting ambitious forms while remaining wearable.
A central theme is that of duality. On the one hand, severe and compact silhouettes, dominated by the color black, appear almost monumental in their essentiality; on the other, explosions of colored tulle, light and ephemeral, introduce a dimension of delicacy and lightness. The color black asserts itself as the foundation of the collection: a graphic canvas that defines every look with clear precision. As pointed out by the designers, the color black is the best for enhancing silhouettes. On the rigorous basis of the color black, pastel accents emerge that recall splashes of optimism: childish in inspiration, but sophisticated in execution, spontaneous in effect and carefully calibrated in looks.
The show culminated in a spectacular "kite" finale, an explicit tribute to the iconic Kate Bush album cover, a source of inspiration for Viktor&Rolf. The final look appeared as if suspended between sky and earth, embodying a poetics between aspiration and rootedness, momentum, flight and immobility.
Diamond Kite celebrates the paradoxical: playful, sincere, naïve, complex but firmly anchored. Viktor&Rolf interpret couture as conscious escapism, reminding us that fashion, in its most transcendent, can lift reality above us while continuing to reflect it. In this vision, designers act as architects and magicians, creating clothes that seem to soar in the air: sculpted forms that translate the invisible currents of the imagination into form and matter.
For this collection, Viktor&Rolf performed live on stage. Each black dress was embellished with a single colored decorative element, such as a collar, a panier, a bow or a cape, which the designers then removed and added to the outfit of a different model.
To complete the Haute Couture looks of Viktor&Rolf in Paris, the shoes of Christian Louboutin and the jewels of Elie Top. The result is a collection that proposes a vision of hope and elevation, where fashion itself becomes, symbolically and concretely, a vessel for "flight".
