Abruzzo Airport is located between two municipalities: S. Giovanni Teatino and Pescara which is about 3 km away.

S.A.G.A., an acronym for the Abruzzo Airport Management Company, is the company that manages the Pescara Airport since 1981. The Ministry of Transport, on 2007, entrusted the company with the thirty- year concession to manage the airport, now equipped with a new passenger terminal

The airport's development plan plans to increase safety, quality of services and air traffic capacity. Abruzzo Airport in 2019 redeveloped the interior spaces of the airport by completing the works for the opening of new gates and other commercial spaces in the post-security check areas.
