Cabo Verde Airlines

Cabo Verde Airlines is a scheduled airline and flag carrier of the Republic of Cape Verde and operates at the international airport on the island of Sal.

Founded in 1958, Cabo Verde Airlines is 49% owned by the State of Cape Verde and 51% by Loftleidir Cabo Verde. Until 1984, the company's operations were limited to the domestic market and in 1975, after the independence of Cape Verde, it started international flights as TACV with the opening of the Sal - Lisbon line in 1985 and subsequently opening up to new markets. In 2018 the TACV airline changed its name to Cabo Verde Airlines.

The airline is a member of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and acquired its registry in IATA's IOSA program in 2009. Cabo Verde Airlines is the sixth African airline certified as an IOSA Operator, in the IATA operational safety audit program.

Cabo Verde Airlines operates domestic and intercontinental flights with a fleet of Boeing 737-700s and Boeing 737 MAX 8s from the Sal Cabo Verde.
