Wizz air launches new Bari - Skopje route
Wizz Air opens a new international connection between Bari (BRI) and Skopje (SKP), the capital of North Macedonia. The new route will be operational from 27 October 2025, with two weekly frequencies - every Monday and Friday - which will become three from 15 December, with the addition of Wednesday. The flights will be operated with the latest generation Airbus A321neo , the most efficient and sustainable aircraft in their class.
Skopje, crossed by the Vardar River and framed by hills and mountains, is one of the most fascinating and surprising capitals of Eastern Europe. With its unique mix of thousand-year history, Balkan culture and architecture ranging from ancient neoclassical monuments to modern squares, the city offers an authentic experience off the beaten track. An ideal destination for Apulian travelers looking for new inspirations, among evocative atmospheres, local flavors and lively cultural life: perfect for an alternative city break full of discoveries.
Wizz Air strengthens its presence in Southern Italy, with a particular focus on Puglia, a strategic territory for connectivity and demand. Bari airport confirms itself as a key hub in the South, thanks to a constantly growing offer of international connections, capable of supporting mobility, tourism and economic development of the area.
The routes operated by Wizz Air from Bari thus rise to 13. The company's current offer from Karol Wojtyla Airport offers Apulian passengers connections with the main countries of Eastern and Central Europe - including Albania, Armenia, Bulgaria, Moldova, Poland, Romania and Hungary - to which North Macedonia is now added.
Italy is confirmed as Wizz Air's first market in terms of the number of passengers carried of the company's entire international network - recording almost 53,000 flights to and from Italy in 2025 alone, with more than 210 active routes and over 11 million bookings (+9% compared to the same period in 2024).
