Wizz Air inaugurates direct flight Catania-Gdansk

The low-cost airline connects Sicily to Northern Europe with a strategic route to one of Poland's liveliest cities

Wizz Air continues to invest in Southern Italy and announces the activation of a new international route between Catania and Gdansk, Poland, starting from October 28, 2025. The flight, operated three times a week (Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday) with modern Airbus A321neo, further expands the European network departing from the Sicilian airport, confirming its central role in the carrier's growth strategy.

The new connection with Gdansk (a historic port city on the Baltic Sea, rich in cultural charm and maritime landscapes) represents an absolute novelty for Sicilian passengers, offering an original destination well connected to Northern Europe.

This is Wizz Air's fourth direct route between Catania and Poland, after Warsaw, Katowice and Wroclaw, the latter departing from March 2026. With over 823,000 passengers transported in the first seven months of 2025 and a flight completion rate of 99.8%, Wizz Air confirms its confidence in Sicily's potential for tourism and commercial development.
