easyJet brings flights and holidays to ChatGPT
easyJet has launched a new integration with ChatGPT that allows Travellers to search for flights, holiday packages and operational information directly within the conversation.
Once the easyJet plugin is connected to ChatGPT, users can check availability and prices in real time, compare available options and also check the status of their flight. The booking is then completed on the airline's website for flights or on the easyJet holidays website for holiday packages.
The goal is to make the research and planning phase of the trip more immediate, intercepting a growing use of conversational artificial intelligence. According to a survey commissioned by easyJet in the United Kingdom, 51% of respondents have already used AI to plan a trip, while a further 17% are considering doing so. Among those who use these tools, ChatGPT was the most used service, with a share of 62%.
easyJet also reports strong growth in traffic from ChatGPT: in the last year, organic accesses to the company's website for flight search have increased by 400%, while those to easyJet holidays have grown by 125%. With this integration, easyJet therefore adds a new channel for searching flights, trips and destinations, while maintaining the final purchase phase on its official websites.
