UltraFino Maserati
Maserati and Bianchet, a Swiss haute horlogerie maison based in Neuchâtel and manufactured in La Chaux-de-Fonds, have signed a collaboration that unites two companies that share the same attention to beauty, mechanical precision and craftsmanship. The result is UltraFino Maserati, a Flying Tourbillon watch made in a limited series of 100 unique pieces and unveiled at Watches and Wonders 2026 in Geneva.
The project was created to celebrate the hundredth anniversary of the Maserati Trident, the iconic symbol designed by Mario Maserati, inspired by the Fountain of Neptune in Bologna and first appeared on the Tipo 26 that won the Targa Florio. A historical reference that ideally links the origins of the brand to the new creation presented in Switzerland.
The collaboration between Maserati and Bianchet represents the natural meeting of two paths that have always shared the same vision. Founded in Bologna in 1914 and based in Modena for over 80 years, Maserati transfers a culture of performance, comfort and Italian style to its cars. The Nettuno V6 engine, developed in-house and equipped with a pre-chamber combustion system with double spark plugs, derived directly from Formula 1 technologies, is also part of this vision.
On the other hand, Bianchet brings its identity as a maison rooted in the tradition of Swiss haute horlogerie to the collaboration. Headquartered in Neuchâtel and manufactured in La Chaux-de-Fonds, the brand bases its approach on technical rigor and aesthetic research, designing each watch according to the principles of the golden ratio, so that proportions and beauty are structural elements of the object. In this perspective, UltraFino Maserati is presented as the point of synthesis between form and function.
The direct inspiration for the timepiece is the Maserati MCPURA, the brand's most recent supersports car , presented at the Goodwood 2025 Festival of Speed and built in Modena. The car is equipped with the 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 engine and 630 hp, is built around a carbon fiber monocoque and reaches 100 km/h in less than 2.9 seconds. Maserati describes it as a contemporary expression of more than a century of Italian sporting tradition, in which lightness, balance and materials become an integral part of performance.
The references between the super sports car and the watch are explicit. The skeletonized dial of UltraFino Maserati is inspired by the architecture of the MCPURA's birdcage design wheels, where the three split spokes recall the Trident motif. The AI Aqua Rainbow finish, introduced on the MCPURA at Goodwood and part of the Maserati Fuoriserie Collezione Futura program, illuminates the dial and continues along the rubber frame of the case. The materials also reinforce this bond: bridges and plate made of grade 5 titanium, together with the case and integrated bracelet made of high-density carbon, evoke the torsional rigidity of carbon fiber and the car's chassis. The tourbillon cage, open and fully visible, recalls the mechanical heart of the Nettuno engine.
The dialogue with the automotive world also continues on a technical level. Just as the MCPURA uses the carbon fiber frame to ensure high levels of torsional rigidity and better manage the stresses of the road, UltraFino Maserati has also been designed to deal with shocks. The integrated solutions at the level of the balance and structure allow the ultra-thin automatic tourbillon to withstand forces of up to 5000 G.
At the center of the watch is the Bianchet caliber UT01. Entirely hand-finished, sandblasted, satin-finished and polished, with handcrafted bevels made on each bridge, on the plate and on the tourbillon cage, the movement has been designed to achieve an ultra-thin profile of just 3.85 mm. The suspended spring barrel eliminates the traditional winding wheel, freeing up vertical space and allowing for a 60-hour power reserve. The tourbillon cage, only 2.66 mm thick, houses a large variable inertia screw balance that beats at 3 Hz, while the winding and regulation architecture is designed to minimize friction and optimize energy transfer along the gear train.
Overall, the movement has 225 components and 29 jewels and is entirely finished by hand. It is housed in a high-density carbon fiber case with vulcanized rubber inserts, 9.9 mm high. The hand-finished crown is also protected by carbon inserts, while the bezel and caseback are equipped with an anti-reflective sapphire crystal. Water resistance is guaranteed up to 5 ATM.
As for the wearing options, UltraFino Maserati is offered with two solutions: an integrated high-density carbon fiber bracelet or a vulcanized natural rubber strap with a titanium folding clasp. The declared weight is only 36 grams, excluding the strap.
Production will be limited to 100 units, a number chosen precisely to recall the centenary of the Maserati Trident. Each watch is numbered and made in the Bianchet atelier in La Chaux-de-Fonds, according to the standards of precision and craftsmanship that characterize the brand.
To celebrate the debut of UltraFino Maserati at Watches and Wonders 2026 in Geneva (from 14 to 20 April 2026), Maserati and Bianchet are also offering an exclusive driving experience on board MCPURA, designed to bring to life the creative and technical dialogue that has shaped this collaboration between high-end automotive and Swiss haute horlogerie.
