Seduction, intrigue and desire in Georges Chakra's couture

Georges Chakra presented in Paris a Fall/Winter 2026-2027 Haute Couture collection that openly plays with desire, intrigue and seduction, bringing to the surface what usually remains hidden. The starting point is the internal structure of the dress: transparent corsets reveal the bonings, velvet cords draw the lines normally hidden under the fabric, and beaded lattices come to replace the fabric itself.

Behind the scenic elegance there is a melancholic vein, never gloomy: the awareness that beauty lives precisely because it is ephemeral, and that the most intense moments are those that last the shortest, leaving behind only an emotion.

Black dominates the palette, declined in crêpe, velvet, Chantilly lace and gazar, cut in column silhouettes, mermaid lines and 7/8 lengths. But it is not a static monochrome: the color bursts in at times, with red crêpe embroidered with sequins and feathers, cobalt blue spread over black tulle and fuchsia duchesse satin worn in full volume.

Even volume, in this collection, stops being a decorative quirk and becomes construction: panier, balloon skirts and drapes of liquid metallic gazar are cut with the same sartorial rigor reserved for black and ivory tuxedos, now the Maison's historic signature.

On the embroidery front, the couture tradition meets unconventional materials - raffia thread, Charleston-style fringes, fiberglass sequins and flowers made of feather - while the bow returns as a distinctive element, applied on closures, sides and shoulders throughout the collection.

Closing the Paris fashion show is an entirely ivorian look: a corset in pearl lattice superimposed on a gathered taffeta, a perfect synthesis between construction and ornament that encapsulates, in a single silhouette, the spirit of the entire collection.
