Tashkent's Islam Karimov International Airport (TAS) is named after the first president of Uzbekistan and is located in the city of Tashkent in Uzbekistan. It is the main and busiest airport in the country and is the operational hub of the national airline Uzbekistan Airways and is served by the most important airlines.
The airport has two runways and two terminals: T2 for flights to international destinations and T3 for domestic flights with access to important historical cities such as Bukhara, Khiva (Ichon-Qala, UNESCO World Heritage Site) and Samarkand as well as almost all regional centers in Uzbekistan.
The airport offers several services for passengers, including the CIP (Commercially Important Person), Anjir and Anor lounges. The check-in area is located on the second floor of the airport and is equipped with a ticket office, Fast Track service, a bar and shop. There are also vending machines, ATMs, currency exchange points, a SIM card point of sale and insurance services, as well as luggage packing service and "Tax Free". An Enforcement Bureau representative office is also operational inside the terminal, where passengers can check for any pending issues before departure.
The waiting room houses bars and restaurants, a pharmacy and shops offering souvenirs, national gastronomy, sweets, gadgets, leather goods and jewellery, as well as Duty Free shops. In the same area are the Anor business lounge and the small Hamsa Hotel.
At Tashkent International Airport, passengers can enjoy a range of complimentary services 24 hours a day. Free Wi-Fi is available in the terminals, as well as a mother-child lounge for passengers with preschoolers or children with disabilities up to 14 years old. Essential services include a medical point for first aid, dedicated prayer and ablutions rooms in the Duty Free area and smoking rooms in the sterile area, near exits B1/B2 and B12, as well as in the Anjir and CIP lounges. Luggage trolleys are available without restrictions in both the departures and arrivals areas, while there is an equipped coworking space in the sterile area of the departures terminal.
