JSI Airport
Skiathos Airport, dedicated to Alexandros Papadiamantis, has a runway created by tearing the land from the sea between the island of Skiathos and the smaller island of Lazareta. The airport is located 2 km from the city center and has been in operation since 1972.
Fraport Greece is involved in the development of the Skiathos airport. The modernization of the airport is characterized by various redevelopments including: expansion of 2,185 m2 and renovation of the existing terminal; reconfiguration of the aircraft parking area; increase in the number of check-in desks; increase in the number of gates at departures; doubling the number of baggage reclaim belts; installation of a modern baggage handling system; redevelopment of the existing yard and car park.

Transportation to/from the airport
Skiathos Airport is located 4.5 km from Skiathos town and is easily accessible from both the Skiathos ring road and the coastal road. The journey to and from the city center takes approximately 10-15 minutes.
A 24/7 taxi service is available outside the Skiathos Airport Terminal Building. The journey from the airport to Skiathos Town is approximately 10-15 minutes and the fare is normally € 10-20.
