SkyUp Airlines LLC is a Ukrainian low-cost airline based in Kyiv, founded in 2017 by the Alba family with the aim of making air travel more accessible and connecting Ukraine with the rest of the world. From the beginning, the company has developed a hybrid model, combining elements typical of traditional carriers with a more competitive fare structure.
The first SkyUp flight took off on May 21, 2018. Before the closure of Ukrainian airspace, the company operated both scheduled and charter flights. Since 2022, it has reorganized its activities focusing in particular on ACMI (Aircraft - Crew - Maintenance - Insurance), charters and special flights in Europe, also working for other carriers and tour operators.
In 2023, SkyUp MT was also established, a company with Maltese certification and registration, created to strengthen the brand's presence on the European market. The group also collaborates with the tour operator Join UP!, within UPfamily.
The SkyUp fleet consists of Boeing 737-700 and 737-800 Next Generation aircraft, used on short and medium-haul connections. Part of the aircraft has been updated with new Geven seats and configurations designed to improve comfort and ergonomics on board.
