TAP strengthens Brazil-Europe network
TAP Air Portugal consolidates its role as an air bridge between Europe and Brazil, expanding its offer to the South American country from the 2026 summer season. The innovations concern both the strengthening of frequencies in the South of Brazil, and the opening of a new destination in the North-East of Brazil, reachable from the Lisbon hub, a strategic transit point for European passengers.
More frequencies to the South of Brazil
From next summer, TAP will introduce a fourth weekly frequency on Lisbon - Porto Alegre and Lisbon - Florianópolis flights. The new flight to Porto Alegre will operate on Mondays from 6 July, while the additional frequency to Florianópolis will enter service on Sundays from 5 July.
New Lisbon - São Luís route
TAP also activates the new Lisbon - São Luís flight, from 26 October 2026. Two weekly flights will directly connect Europe to the state of Maranhão, in the north-east of Brazil.
The route will be operated with Airbus A321LR for long-haul, with 16 seats in business class and 155 in economy class, on the Lisbon (LIS) - São Luís (SLZ) - Fortaleza (FOR) - Lisbon (LIS) route.
Frequencies and times:
- Lisbon - São Luís: Monday and Thursday, departure at 19:05, arrival at 00:10 the following day.
- São Luís - Lisbon (via Fortaleza): Tuesday and Friday, departure at 01:40, arrival in Fortaleza at 03:00, departure at 04:30 and arrival in Lisbon at 14:50.
São Luís becomes the fifteenth Brazilian city directly served by TAP, strengthening the accessibility of a region that is still poorly connected to Europe.
Lisbon strategic hub for European passengers
Thanks to the Lisbon hub, passengers departing from Italy and major European destinations fly to Porto Alegre, Florianópolis and São Luís with optimized connections, benefiting from a single carrier, reduced transit times and a wide choice of schedules.
