TAP renews its onboard wine list

A selection of 55 labels tells the story of Portugal between Business, Economy and wine tourism

After tastings, technical analysis and discussions with producers, TAP Air Portugal has completed the selection process of the new Portuguese wine list that will be progressively introduced on board during 2026. The process involved three evaluation phases and almost 1,300 applications, up to identifying 55 labels representative of the national wine scene.

The new proposal includes 43 wines for Business Class and 12 for Economy Class. In Business, the experience begins with a welcome drink based on white Port and continues with an articulated selection of 12 red wines, 12 whites, six sparkling wines, six Port wines and six Moscatel de Setúbal, designed to accompany the different moments of service on board.

The wines come from nine regions of Portugal and are organized into eight categories, with a bimonthly renewal that allows regular passengers to discover new labels throughout the year. A choice that reflects the company's commitment to enhancing the diversity of Portuguese territories and grape varieties.

Every year, TAP serves around half a million bottles of wine on its flights, with more than 16 million passengers and more than a thousand weekly connections. With this new charter, the company strengthens the link between travel and cultural identity, bringing on board an authentic tale of Portugal.

The experience extends beyond the flight thanks to a new addition to the in-flight entertainment system: an interactive map dedicated to Portuguese wine, the first of its kind in the airline sector. Passengers can explore the wine-growing regions, discover wineries and wine tourism proposals and, via QR code, directly access the producers' websites without connection costs.

This feature is integrated with the Portugal Stopover program, which allows you to visit two destinations for the cost of one by making a free stopover in Lisbon or Porto for up to ten days, both outward and return, and to take advantage of discounts with over 150 local partners, including numerous companies related to wine tourism.

Finally, the new wine list joins the Local Stars programme, through which TAP enhances Portuguese cuisine in Executive Class with menus signed by chefs from different regions of the country, reinforcing a travel experience that combines taste, territory and cultural discovery.
