Qatar Airways' first Starlink-equipped flight
Within a year, the entire Boeing 777 fleet will be equipped with high-speed, low-latency internet provided by Starlink. Passengers can stay connected for free while flying at 35,000 feet
Qatar Airways launches the world's first Starlink-equipped flight on a Boeing 777, taking onboard connectivity to new heights. The airline, recognized as the best in the world by Skytrax in 2024, introduced this innovation with the flight from Doha to London on October 22, 2024, becoming the first airline in the MENA region to offer passengers ultra-fast, free and low-latency internet thanks to Starlink technology, developed by SpaceX. This service will be progressively extended to the entire Boeing 777 fleet by 2025 and subsequently also to Airbus A350s.
With Starlink, passengers will be able to enjoy entertainment, streaming sporting events, online gaming and working comfortably even at 35,000 feet, at no cost. This step reinforces Qatar Airways ' commitment to pushing the boundaries of traditional air travel, delivering a cutting-edge in-flight experience and setting new standards in the aviation industry. The introduction of Starlink represents an important milestone for the company, which stands out for being the first in the world to equip a Boeing 777 with this technology and the first in the Middle East to offer this service on commercial flights.
