New codeshare agreement between Turkish Airlines and South African Airways
Turkish Airlines, Turkey's flag carrier, has signed a new codeshare agreement with South African Airways, significantly expanding travel possibilities between Africa, Europe and Asia. The agreement will enter into force on 1 March 2026.
More connections in Africa for Turkish Airlines passengers
Under the new agreement, Turkish Airlines will place the code TK on South African Airways-operated flights to some of Africa's top destinations, including: Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban, Port Elizabeth, Windhoek, Harare, Victoria Falls and Mauritius.
A strategic extension that further strengthens Turkish Airlines' role as the carrier with the most extensive network in Africa, already consisting of 65 destinations in 41 countries.
Access to Turkish Airlines' global network for SAA passengers
South African Airways will apply its SA code on selected Turkish Airlines flights departing from Istanbul to: Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban, Frankfurt, Paris and London.
SAA Travellers will be able to easily connect with Turkish Airlines' global network, which reaches 355 destinations in 131 countries, one of the largest in the world.
A real advantage for travellers
The new agreement offers passengers:
- greater choice of itineraries on routes between Africa, Europe and Asia
- faster connections via Istanbul and major South African hubs
- A smoother travel experience, thanks to a single booking and simplified procedures.
