Neos guarantees long-haul flights with new wet-leased aircraft

Agreements with four companies to keep winter connections from Rome, Milan and Verona to the main leisure destinations operational

Neos, a carrier of the Alpitour World group, has activated Wet Lease In agreements with AirTanker, Iberojet, MGA Airlines and TUI Airlines to operate, between December and the end of January, a part of the long-haul flights departing from Rome Fiumicino, Milan Malpensa and Verona.

The destinations involved are Zanzibar, Mombasa, Havana, Punta Cana, La Romana and Salalah, destinations in high demand in the winter season.

The decision stems from the need to carry out continuous inspection and maintenance activities on the Rolls Royce Trent 1000 engines in the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner fleet, which would have limited operational capacity in the months of peak demand. To avoid service reductions, Neos has selected aircraft with standards and capacities similar to those of its fleet, thus ensuring full continuity of the flight program.

The connections operated in wet lease include crews from partner companies, supported by two Neos supervisors on board, in charge of ensuring the quality of the service. The catering will reflect the Neos experience, with dishes inspired by the Italian tradition complemented by international proposals, while the entertainment will vary according to the programming of the individual companies.

The fleet made available by Neos will offer different and in some cases enhanced configurations:

  • MGA Airlines: 37 seats in Full Flat Business Class and 24 in Economy Extra Space, guaranteeing a level of comfort above the usual standard.
  • Iberojet and AirTanker: full economy configuration with 24 Economy Extra Space (EESP) seats.
  • TUI Airlines: Four travel classes, including Premium, Economy Extra Space, Economy Extra Standard and Economy.
