ITA Airways, Italian taste flies on board
ITA Airways renews the offer on board intercontinental flights, once again focusing on Italian food and wine excellence as a distinctive feature of the journey. The main novelty is the new Business Class menu, in service throughout the summer season on all intercontinental departures from Rome Fiumicino.
The journey into the dish opens with a Tuscan-inspired panzanella and an appetizer of octopus and potatoes with Campania flavors. Among the first courses, the caskets filled with burrata pay homage to Puglia, while the fregola with pistachios, shrimps and lemon recalls the scents of Sardinia and Sicily. The second courses offer two Lazio classics, saltimbocca alla romana and cuttlefish with peas, before the final dessert based on ricotta and sour cherries.
The on-board cellar is enriched with Franciacorta Bellavista Alma Assemblage, while bread and extra virgin olive oil I&P Grand Cru Monte Freddo - Caninese enter the service permanently, after the positive outcome of the experimentation launched last year. The news does not only concern Business Class: during the summer, even those traveling in Premium Economy and Economy on intercontinental routes from Rome Fiumicino will be able to enjoy ice cream, served on board as a new pampering of the trip.
An expanding summer network
The 2026 summer season confirms the growth of the ITA Airways network, which reaches 72 destinations. Flagship connections include the new direct Rome Fiumicino-Houston flight, alongside the consolidation of key routes such as Miami. On the European and Mediterranean fronts, Alicante, Malaga, Marseille, Mykonos, Trapani and Valencia make their debut, flanked by seasonal connections to the most popular tourist destinations and an increase in flights to southern Italy and the islands. Expansion to Asia and the Middle East also continues, with increased frequencies to Bangkok and Delhi and the return of flights to Tel Aviv, operated with Airbus A321neo via the Rome Fiumicino hub.
