Etihad inaugurates four new routes with sold-out flights
Etihad Airways has experienced unprecedented growth with the launch of its inaugural flight to Krabi (Thailand), completing four new openings in seven days. Connections to Sumatra (Medan, Indonesia), Phnom Penh (Cambodia), Addis Ababa (Ethiopia) and Krabi were sold out, confirming the high demand and success of the Emirati carrier's expansion strategy.
With Krabi, Etihad reaches 86 global destinations and marks the eleventh opening of 2025, with eight new routes expected to be operational within the next two months. In the last 12 months, the company has announced 31 new destinations, including Kabul, departing in December, and Damascus, Palma de Mallorca and Zanzibar, scheduled for the first half of 2026.
Expansion supported by the new Airbus A321LR
The introduction of the all-new Airbus A321LR has enabled Etihad to quickly enter new markets in Asia and Africa, expanding its network with greater efficiency and flexibility. Routes to Sumatra, Phnom Penh and Krabi are operated with this state-of-the-art aircraft, designed to offer a premium flight experience and reduced fuel consumption.
The A321LR features three classes of service, including the first First Suites on Etihad's narrow-body aircraft: private cabins with sliding doors, flat-bed beds and a unique design inspired by long-haul flights.
First passengers can also enjoy the First Deluxe service, which includes a Personal Concierge, Etihad Chauffeur transfer, dedicated Meet & Assist and other exclusive benefits.
A challenge for loyal Travellers
All new routes are part of the Etihad Extraordinary Challenge programme, which invites Etihad Guest members to visit 5, 10 or 15 new destinations to win up to 5 million Etihad Guest Miles. The challenge, valid until May 25, 2026, is open to all members, new and existing.
