Cathay Pacific celebrates 15 years of flights to Milan Malpensa
Cathay Pacific is celebrating the 15th anniversary of the connection between Milan Malpensa and Hong Kong, underlining the strategic importance of this route in its global network. Coinciding with this celebration, the company announced the resumption of daily flights from Milan, further strengthening ties between Italy and Asia.
Adrien Ng, Cathay Pacific's Regional Director for Southern Europe, expressed excitement about this milestone, highlighting how the increase in frequencies reflects the airline's commitment to the Italian market and the growing demand for connectivity between the two regions.
Shirley Yung, Hong Kong's Special Representative for Economic and Trade Affairs to the European Union, underlined Cathay Pacific's crucial role in consolidating economic and cultural relations between Hong Kong and Italy.
From an airport point of view, Luigi Battuello, Chief Commercial Officer of SEA Milan Airports, highlighted how the restoration of the daily service represents a clear testimony of the importance of Milan Malpensa as a strategic hub and the growing demand for connectivity between these two geographical areas.
In addition to the enhancement of operations to Milan, Cathay Pacific has announced the expansion of its 2025 summer schedule, with the increase of weekly flights from 12 European cities, including the resumption of direct flights from Rome Fiumicino Airport starting from 5 June 2025, operated with Airbus A350-900 aircraft.
This anniversary and new initiatives underline Cathay Pacific's continued commitment to providing quality services and strengthening its presence in the European market, offering Italian passengers more opportunities to connect to Asia-Pacific through its Hong Kong hub.
